We offer a variety of camps full of creative experiences for kids and teens. Art Camps are 2-1/2 hours, running Monday through Thursday. Bottled water will be available. Individually wrapped snacks maybe offered on some camp days. Summer Art Camps are held at the Cottingham home, 708 S Broadway, Pitman, NJ.

Around the World Safari Tour 1
June 24-27 9:00-11:30 Ages 6-11 (your child must have completed kindergarten)
Come on a “safari” around the world! Students will create different animals from all seven continents! Your child will get his or her own ‘passport’ to record each continent, complete with their own self-portrait. Their passport will have a sticker for every animal they create, along with a fact sheet for each animal! Your child will draw, color, paint, cut, fold, glue, tape, assemble, and more – while using a wide variety of mediums and materials. We will have tons of fun as we learn about art and animals! All supplies included.
The animals from Safari Tour 1 include a Tiger, Bird, Bear, Rainbow Fish, Raccoon, Zebra and a Penguin.

How to Draw People, for Kids
July 15-18 9:00-11:30 Ages 7-11
(New projects this year!) Children love to draw people and faces! But as they get older, they begin to recognize the challenge of making their people look “real”. Your child can feel more confident in drawing by learning about proportion, using different drawing techniques. In this camp your child will learn about the proportions of the body and the face. We will have times of practice drawing the various features of the face and parts of the body, such as hands. Students will also complete some finished art works of people, as well as a portrait. All supplies included.
This camp is a second collection of drawing people and includes a Lego figure in human proportions, a warrior from the “Terracotta Army”, a singing pop star in profile, a figure in action with its shadow, and a self-portrait. Plus, 3D pipe cleaner people!

How to Draw People, for Teens
July 15-18 1:00-3:30 Ages 12-17
(New projects this year!) Drawing people is often the biggest challenge in making art! Your child can take on this challenge and feel more confident in drawing by learning about proportion, and having an understanding of different drawing techniques. In this camp students will learn about the proportions of the body and the face, in children and adults. We will have times of practice drawing the various features of the face and parts of the body, such as hands. Students will also complete some finished art works of people, as well as a portrait. For all skill levels. All supplies included.
This camp is a second collection of drawing people with an emphasis on movement and balance, including an Egyptian figure in profile, a sports player, a dancer, a self-portrait and a 3D clay figure.

In this camp your child will explore techniques of drawing as they develop their observation and drawing skills. There will be times of learning, practice and fun challenges as students strengthen their abilities. Using a variety of mediums, your child will also create several finished pieces of art, taking some drawings further by adding color. Your child will learn about and use the elements of art and some principles of design to create their art. Every drawing camp will use various warm-up work sheets and contour drawing exercises. Students will create different art projects in each drawing art camp.
This camp includes a directed-drawing abstract, a small still life, a colorful toucan, a whale and sea life watercolor, a stuffed bear in value and texture, and a self-portrait. All supplies included.

Drawing and More for Teens
July 22-25 1:00-3:30 Ages 12-17
In this camp students will develop and improve their observation and drawing skills as they explore techniques of drawing. Using practice times and challenges, students will strengthen their abilities and confidence in drawing. They will learn about and use the elements of art and the principles of design to create their art with strong composition. Students will also create several finished pieces of art using various mediums, taking some drawings further by enhancing them with color. For all skill levels. All supplies included. Every drawing camp will use various warm-up work sheets and contour drawing exercises. Students will create different art projects in each drawing art camp.
This camp includes a white-on-white study of foam cups with a twist of realism, color and imagination, the challenge of drawing a steer skull, a small graphite landscape full of textures, a colorful Pop Art creation, and a portrait. All supplies included.

This camp includes lots of color and imagination, including a still life of fruit with Snow white’s poisoned apple, a castle with a dragon, a Rousseau jungle picture, an under-the-sea seek-and-find, creating shapes and patterns in a dancing robot, and a pirate self-portrait. All supplies included.

This Camp Is Full Let’s Get Painting!
August 5-8 1:00 - 3:30 Ages 6-11 (your child must have completed kindergarten)
In this camp your child will go beyond black-and-white drawing with loads of color in various mediums! Your child will learn about the elements of art and some different techniques in painting, with an emphasis in acrylic paints. Our projects include a southwest landscape, sunflowers like Van Gogh, a lighthouse painting on canvas, a small painting of citrus slices, an imaginative jellyfish, and a Jeff Koons balloon dog – with an added surprise! All supplies included.

This class is designed for the student to enhance their artistic creativity and skills in drawing and painting. The class will consist of structured projects to improve their skills in creating art. Students will be taught with a focus on individual development, whether a beginner or advanced artist. All materials provided. Students can bring their own sketchbooks if preferred.
